Mystery ‘Halo’ cloud appears over Mexico
The circular cloud was captured by an amateur cameraman above Mexico on February 11, and the video comments on YouTube suggest that it could be a hole punched in the sky by an alien craft.
Some internet UFO enthusiasts have maintained that the cloud is absolute proof of a UFO visit, while others think it may be a porthole through which alien ships could enter the Earth’s atmosphere.

It isn’t the first time such a cloud formation has been spotted, after a similar mystery ‘Halo’ formation was spotted in the skies over Moscow late last year.

This is a drop cloud or a hole punch cloud. It happens when the affected area drops in temperature and the vapor turns into ice and then falls into a lower plane in the atmosphere.

I had the same thought as FreeFall. The report even said there was a boom, like the sound when a sound barrier is b broken.

Pretty image.

It is obviously a residual effect of an object breaking the sound barrier. The fact that the clouds within the ring appear to originate from a single point on the ring suggests horizontal movement, as opposed to vertical movement. (the ring is a two-dimensional slice of the spherical emanations of the sound-waves created by the flat cloud, this would happen regardless of the direction the object was heading). Of course, under normal cloud conditions, that altitude would be too low for most aircraft to risk flying at such speeds.
